So there are three parts to surviving a nuclear explosion.
- The initial flash of light, which has been reported to leave silhouettes of people on walls behind them.
- The shockwave, which levels buildings.
- The fallout, which lasts and kills living things with radiation sickness.
Honorable mention: the climate cooling effects of kicking dust up into the atmosphere.
